Dark Mattern in our Milkyway? (Indirect confirmation with spectroscopy in 21 cm wavelength)

Abstract:
A student of my „Pluskurs Astronomy“ in Salzburg wanted to confirm the reality of Dark Matter in our Milky Way.
He got the permission to use the Astropeiler Stockert, a radio telescope in Germany near Bonn.
With these data he computed the velocity of the spiral arms of the Milky Way applying the Doppler law and some basic trigonometry.
He only got the velocity of the spiral arms from the center of the Milky Way to our sun in distance of 8 kpc.
But the effect of Dark Matter, unfortunately, can be seen only in the outer areas of our galaxy having distances larger than 15 kpc.
Therefore, an indirect proof was necessary.
