Modification of Canon 10D - Remove the filter in front of CCD-Chip for astronomical use
Attention: please note that you lose the warranty of the 10D if you make this modification!
Attention: please wear a grounding strap until you work with the open camera case!
Take care that the camera is not easy to use with normal camera lenses after the modification. The autofucus doesn't work, the optical finder has another focus as the CCD-chip and the automatic white balance doesn't work! You can solve the problem with the focus if you mount another filter instead of the original filter. But the thickness should be the same, 2.8mm.
For optimal astronomical use, take a -IR/-UV filter!
There are many different screws on the camera. The best way is to seperate the screws in different boxes and make notes about the position.
