DMKguider - Background

Since October 2014, I am interested in astronomical spectroscopy.

In this case, the integrated guide chip of my SBIG cameras is not usable, because the camera receives not the star image, only the spectral strip is shown on the chip.

The common practice is, to guide off-axis on the slit.

Now I have a DMK31 from ImagingSource and I tried to guide with different free software packages, but without big success.

That was the reason to develop DMKguider. Maybe you can use it also! Take it, it is freeware.
